FJ cruiser has an OEM roof rack with 1 3/4” diameter bars. Using the provided rubber inserts that came with the clamp for 1 3/4”, I could not get the clamp to close with the provided bolts. Needed to purchase new 10/32 bolts in 3/4” length from Lowes to make it work. The aluminum is also very soft and I feel might strip easily so do not over tighten.

Could use some longer screws to help get the clamps to thread together easier. Bushings are on the thick side and get smashed down quite a bit once it’s pulled down tight. Looks good once mounted. I used them to mount a license plate on my Jeeps tire carrier.

I had to drill and retap the holes for 1/4×20 on the cage bolts, because they strip out easily while tightening them down

I choose to mount mine vertically on the side mirror of my work semi. It was an awkward size I ended up having to mix two sizes of rubber inserts together to get it just right. I think the people stripping these screws out are trying to squeeze too hard by using the same insert on both sides, mix them if needed, reduces required pressure to close, still holds great.They seem to whistle when you get moving

I mounted a 12-inch triple row LED light bar on the front-end of my Polaris Ranger using these bar clamps. Easy to install and they hold. They stay where you put them. Good quality clamps.
