Ok… my boat trailer is fairly old so a lot of the challenge was getting the old lights and wires off. This set went on relatively easily – even for someone who is mechanically inclined but with zero experience. The wires seem to be of good quality and were JUST long enough to run the whole length of my 18-foot trailer. If you don’t have any experience, definitely lay it all out first to be sure you have the measurements you need and enough wire. We had one mess-up and needed to splice in some of the extra that was provided for the truck side, which we didn’t need. The lights have been on the trailer for a couple of months now and we have launched the boat about 10 or so times. So far, the lights themselves are working really well. However, the light casings are filling up with water. The amber side lights filled up first but the tail lights have also started to leak. This has not impacted the function of the lights (so far – I will update if they begin to fail). The water doesn’t seem to be draining out of the lights and we are coming up to freezing temps now so we might have to take measures to ensure the lenses don’t crack. So, all-in-all, a pretty good light set – really nice and bright! -and the diodes too appear to be sealed… but the lenses are not sealed so expect water to collect inside them.

I replaced a standard incandescent light kit that came with my marine trailer with this kit. Rewiring was simple, used the existing wiring to fish the new wires through. These lights are bright, and the included reflective tape was a nice addition. The one issue I ran into with this kit was that the white ground wires they provide with each light states you should secure them to the frame for ground, but my trailer was painted so simply securing the wire to the frame wasn’t sufficient to create a ground. Ultimately I ran a 16 AWG wire from the ground nut on the tongue to each of the lights, and they powered on. Good luck with your install! Would have given 5 stars if the kit wiring included the ground wire in the wiring assembly.

Didn’t know I had to ground every light, the old one had only one ground point. Don’t install these every day and it was pretty straight forward

These are great lights. Very bright running lights and super bright brake lights. My big disappointment was losing my license plate because the plastic attachment fractured just under the light assembly. You might want to safety wire your plate to a hard point on your trailer.

Much better than the factory lights.

Update: Used my own terminal connectors, sanded down all the grounding connection points and lights are now working!Took longer than planned to install and return window closed. Running lights never worked, tail lights are temperamental and internal wiring attachments are not secure. Reasonably easy to install, just had to drill some new holes for brackets and screws. Would like to receive a replacement in order to update review.

Nice complete kit with enough connectors and other hardware to handle variety of installations. Harness wire seems good quality but difficult to tell until time and UV has worked on it. I think some reviewers forget that LEDs require less current therefore need smaller wire but this wire same gauge as the factory wire for incandescent lights it replaced. The lights are super bright. Things to consider:- as others have noted where wires enter the case they apparently are not sealed but you cannot see whether they actually aren’t sealed. I didn’t add sealant and no problems yet. Try dunking them in bucket of water before installing if you are worried about it. Depth likely matters a lot. Mine will only be under a foot of water at most. If you have a big boat/trailer you should test deeper.- test lights before mounting. I thought I had a bad one but turns out I had done something stupid and light was fine.- these are 3 and 2 wire lights. You will need to provide grounding attachment. My old lights grounded directly to the frame via spring clips but these have ground wires.- frame grounding is a horrible idea that is pretty common. Do yourself a giant favor and wire your ground all the way to trailer connector rather than frame grounding.- my running lights were post mount (single bolt) while these mount with 2 screws and no easy way to build an adapter plate so I ended up drilling new holes for mounting running lights.- I wanted to save old harness so instead of cutting it to fish new harness wire through trailer frame I found that string trimmer line worked really well.

Someone smashed both taillights on our boat trailer. These lights were a perfect replacement for them. The mounting bolts fit perfectly into the mounting holes, and the wire connectors worked just fine. Very good quality.
